Island House

The Island House was the perfect place for a family of 5 adults to escape the dreary skies of Cleveland, Ohio for a perfect early spring get away! We all wish we could have stayed another week. The peaceful views from the backyard made this house by far the best home we have ever stayed at over the years. Except for major groceries everything you need is in the house or within a walk or bike ride away. The house is absolutely hands down on the best part of the island, away from crowds and parking issues. Note that there is a sea wall being built right now that blocks walking to the left of the house on the beach, but just short easy walk over the bridge to Captiva will allow you to walk for miles! Check out all the adventures at Tarpon Bay just 10-15 away with kayaking, paddle boarding and so much more! Chip, the owner of the home, is very easy to work with and nearby if you need anything. Will absolutely rent this house and from Chip again. Sanibel is a dream waiting to explore!!!

Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation at Island House! We love staying here because there is so much for everyone to do. We all love shelling on the beach, and my husband really enjoys fishing at Blind Pass. (He even caught a 35" Snook from the beach!) The kids really enjoy the pool, and the views of the bay are just beautiful. Island House has every amenity you could need, and Chip always makes us feel like Island House is our home away from home. We also love that we can bring our dog, Charley, along on our vacations as well. We can't wait to come back next year!

The most relaxing place I’ve ever experienced. I say experience because of its encompassing peace and beauty will touch your soul. If you never left Island House, you’d think you have traveled back in time. Quiet and ever so peaceful, you can walk out the back door and onto a lovely deck surrounded by tropical foliage, a fire pit, shell pathways leading to the bay where you are likely to see at least 50 birds resting on a sand bar - pelicans, spoonbills, egrets, and other wild life. Out your front door you are within a few steps from the worlds best shelling beach in the world. The Island House itself is decorated appropriate for an island treasure. Comfortable furniture, wood palm ceiling fans in every room, original art work, top of the line appliances... I mean it’s as if the owner has anticipated your every need! You are really missing out if you don’t experience this hidden treasure! It’s no mistake that Island House has consistently gotten 5 star reviews!

This April we spent a week at the Island House for our third year in a row. This house, the location, the amenities and the setting are all absolutely perfect. The proximity to the beach, the pool, the dock and the availability of the kayaks on the bay made the need to leave the property practically non-existent. Chip was extremely helpful and accessible, and made sure there was nothing we needed. The home is extremely well cared for, and equipped with everything we needed for the week, and this year we got to enjoy some recent upgrades to the house and property. We will be staying at this home every year, for as long as Chip will have us! We already mailed our deposit for April 2018!

My husband, 2 teenagers, and yellow labrador spent spring break at Island House. It was perfect! I am, and you will be too if you rent it, spoiled now for what I expect a rental to be. Island House has an immaculate yard -- a tropical paradise with multiple places to sit and watch the wildlife on the bay, the private heated pool activities, fire in the firepit, shower outdoors, or to just sit and read in private. We saw a dolphin almost every night right in front of the house in the bay. There are two kayaks with the rental that we took out several times. It is a quite retreat and you feel like you are away from it all with the old time FL feel, but shelling, restaurants, grocery, and a marina are all right across the street. The owner, Chip, is great -- very nice, helpful, and responsive. The house is very clean and decorated eclectic with many interesting items from around the area. It has very comfortable furniture and beds and flat screen TVs as well as an office area if you have work to do. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of room to cook your own meals. There is a Weber grill on the deck. When Chip says "just bring your swimsuit", he means it, he has thought of everything to meet your vacation needs. There were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs including a cart, flashlights for night shelling, pool and beach toys, etc. We can't wait to come back to this paradise and booked next year's spring break at Island House before we left this year.

This amazing home and property is more picturesque than words can tell! After renting for two consecutive years, we are excited to be returning to this fabulous, tropical Sannibel Island vacation home. As world travelers, we have experienced many enchanting, relaxing resorts and renowned locations and choose to return again to the wonderful experience of this great home. This home exudes hospitality and old Florida charm coupled with gorgeous landscaping that could awe Mother Nature herself! There is no need to leave and drive to board a sunset cruise, just take the on-site kayaks from the private dock and you are basking in the natural beauty and sunsets of a photographer's dreams! The owner, Chip, is always accommodating, and provides everything you could ask for. The website pictures, although beautiful, do not begin to capture the true live experience. The constant gentle breeze with a hint of salt air, the views from the pool, deck, grounds and dock all in a lush, tropical setting is invigorating. If you enjoy the comfortable relaxing beauty of nature in a tropical surrounding with both elegant and casual dining restaurants close by , beaches within a short walking distance and all the amenities of home, like us, you will truly love this charming Island House.

My husband, 2 children and our chocolate labrador just spent a week at this property. It is so charming, clean, and has everything you need for a beach vacation. We were able to dock our boat right on the property dock, walk across the road to the beach, and swim every minute of the day in the pool. It's within walking distance to a general store and a few restaurants too. We saw manatees, dophins, fish and dozens of differnt birds during our visit, right in the bay! We will be back for SURE! Property manager Chip was amazing too... helped with everything we needed.

Beautiful house, UNBEATABLE location, and fabulous yard. Our family spent time fishing on the dock, (Castaways marina is right next door for bait, supplies, and advice.), walking for miles on the beach, kayaking the bay and bayou, and swimming in our private heated pool. there is even a fire pit and Chip brought over a supply of firewood to use. We had the most relaxing and serene trip in years.
